The Full Story
From a Plattelandse Dorp to a Global Stage
Michael's journey began in a typical Plattelandse dorp, where as a young boy, he sold second-hand clothes on his family's stoep. With a little entrepreneurial spark and his grandmother's help, Michael's trading spirit was born.

A Passion Ignited
For 20 years, Michael managed a commercial bakery, all while nurturing his love for antiques. On weekends, he scoured markets and auctions, buying and selling antique furniture to build his personal collection.
The Big Leap
In 2015, Michael decided to turn his passion into a full-time venture. Leaving the bakery behind, he started Michael’s Antiques on Facebook. With no staff and minimal resources, Michael did it all—from carrying heavy furniture to engaging with customers online. His hard work paid off as auctions and unique items drew in a growing crowd of followers.

Rising Above Challenges
When COVID-19 hit in March 2020, Michael faced unprecedented challenges. But with a loyal client base and a rich inventory, he kept the business alive by offering sales with future pick-ups and even selling pieces from his private collection. His perseverance paid off, with likes and followers continuing to climb.
A New Chapter
By September 2020, Michael's Antiques had transformed into Michael’s Auction House - Antiques, Collectables, and General. With international clients in tow, the business expanded its reach globally. Michael’s dedication, customer service, and fair pricing model stand as pillars of success.
